Landscapes
I have a great affinity with realism, but I also wanted to push my style in landscapes further to create drama and energy as well as interest and beauty. What I have developed is a style in which, up close, is an intricate use of color, stroke, lines, swirls of oils, inks and metallics. It is a combination of design and abstraction up close, but as the viewer backs away it becomes a very realistic work. Another contributing element of these landscapes is a sense of mood and spirituality. It is achieved by incorporating the theme of transition… chaos to order, darkness to light, and abstraction to realism. To sum it up, each is a celebration of creation and, ultimately, the creator.
