This particular piece is more overtly religious in nature as its symbolism depicts the bride of Christ, the church. Some of the other symbolism in this piece includes a morning star through the branches of the tree, the sun rising serving as a halo symbolizing her purity as well as a new beginning, and she delicately holds a lily which is a direct symbol of her love.
