This large romantic painting and poem was inspired by the artists wife.  The setting is located on the river behind their home.

“As the days are drawing shorter
With Summers recent close,
A quiet stillness wraps the land
As nature pales and slows.
 

There is a place of warmth and peace
Where a single flower blooms,
One in which is giving light
And bids away the gloom.
